The Port of Anchorage operates year around. We are open 24/7/365 come see us in our winter operations on Sunday, December 9th for our FREE public tours from 11:00am - 3:00pm. WHAT do I need to bring for my group tour?
Government issued identification such as your driver's license or passport. If you are a teacher or guardian you do not have to provide identification for your students however you are held responsible for your group.
Visitor Requirements
To specially tailor our tour to your group, please include the following information in your e-mail correspondence or be prepared to discuss over the phone when scheduling your visit.
Name of each adult attending tour:
- Group Size
- Number of adults
- Number of children
- Special needs or restrictions with your group
Please note, if you are unable or unwilling to provide proper information to security, your group will be denied access to the Port of Anchorage.
Security Statement
Port Roads Closed to Public Access
Due to heightened security requirements, the Port of Anchorage has initiated an aggressive access control program. Until further notice, all Port properties and roads are closed to the public. All inbound traffic to the Port will be monitored. This includes both commercial truck traffic and private vehicles. Drivers must have proper identification and a need to be on the facility to gain access. Individuals having business at the Port must have a confirmed Port sponsor or contact person and a contact phone number.
Access Control Procedures
Events impacting National Security required the Port of Anchorage to initiate an aggressive access control program that will provide the security measures mandated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. A one-time or casual visitor will be required to present government issued identification with a photograph and have a Port sponsor prior to being granted access to the facility.
Anyone not having a valid reason to be on the Port of Anchorage will be denied entry.
Certain items are considered Prohibited on the Port of Anchorage and facilities located within the Port Security Zone. Examples of these prohibited items are; firearms, ammunition, incendiary devices, explosives, and unauthorized Haz Mat.
